Experience
Being a tutor, both professionally and on a volunteer basis, I understand the struggles that students may have comprehending and understanding course material. Although I have tutored students from ages 6 to 35, my preferred age group are high school students. As a recent graduate of Northwestern University, my areas of expertise are Math, including Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Essay Writing, and Spanish. My style of tutoring is supportive and encouraging; we work together to overcome any obstacles.I work with my students to identify their strengths and weaknesses; SAT Math, Reading, and Writing can be intimidating for many students. With my tutoring assistance, students work to maximize the scores of their SAT and ACT, and fill out their college applications with confidence. Essay Writing can be challenging for some students. I work with my students and teach them the correct way to write an essay that any teacher or college requires.Learning another language can be perplexing; I take the time to teach my students in a way that they can understand. We take it one step at a time. Helping my students learn to become Spanish speaking is a rewarding experience.
