I am a Biology major at the University of Chicago, and I enjoy tutoring because it combines my interests in mentoring and classroom education. I find it fulfilling to make seemingly difficult subjects understandable to students, by showing them that the "hard sciences" aren't really all that hard at all. In fact, I am passionate about many of the subjects that require extra effort. I am able to make classes that some people want to avoid the ones they will always remember, because I show them how to conquer these subjects without angst.Another area of tutoring that I really enjoy is preparation for the SAT. In my opinion, this testing is a challenge that is best attacked with eyes wide open and a good guide to reveal the pitfalls, as well as how to avoid them. I excel at Organic Chemistry and the Critical Reading section of the test, and I welcome the opportunity to show others how to succeed, as well. Armed with the right tools, students can gain the confidence they need to meet these goals.I like to play tennis in my spare time. I also enjoy acting on the stage and cooking, which I refer to as great chemistry experiments you get to eat.
