I am a current junior at Loyola University Chicago who is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Statistics and European Studies. I am also in the Honors Program. My main specialties are in Russia and Eastern Europe as well as research methods for political science.
Experience
I have done volunteer tutoring for 5 years with low-income youth across a wide variety of age ranges. At the beginning of this year I started doing ACT tutoring and have helped students on average increase their composite score by 3 points, and on various section scores up to 9 points. On the ACT I achieved the following scores: Composite 33, English 33, Mathematics 36, Reading 34, Science 30, and Writing 12 (out of 12). I enjoy tutoring because I love to see students achieve that "ah-ha" moment and overcome barriers to understanding a certain concept. I also enjoy building relationships with them and sharing in their achievements.
