Experience
I studied physics and environmental studies at Augustana College prior to transferring to UIC, where I minor in economics. I am starting my graduate work next fall. As a tutor, I am adept at explaining the same concept in multiple ways to ensure that another person can comprehend it. My best subjects to teach in are science and math. I believe that tutoring is a benefit to the teacher just as much as it is the student. I aim to create a fun learning environment in which the information is relatable to my student. I find that this type of environment leads to greater educational success. While tutoring, I stress the importance of perseverance in learning, a quality that is vital in all areas of life. Whether we are reviewing college algebra, economics, quantitative reasoning, or physics, I allow the student to set the pace, so they can master the concepts at hand. By employing creative learning methods and tools, I can make learning fun and therefore easier on my students. To me, my mission is to support others as they work towards academic success. During my free time, I am an avid ping pong player, though I also enjoy badminton.
