Jordan C.
Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Education
2011 to 2014, I attended Savannah College of Art and Design earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. I was able to graduate with a GPA of 3.3. I am one to believe that my education began long before attending SCAD, I was just able to further my knowledge there. My true teacher was life itself. As a photographer I learned to be a person of observance and projection. This could all be simply summed up in this phrase, showing ones unique perspective and that's what my education helped me to do.
Experience
My goal as a tutor is to expose my student to endless possibilities as a photographer. I have tutored friends and various clients with both subjects. While studying at SCAD I learned the ability to harness my passion and talents. The photography curriculum would teach me about history, business, technique and alternative practices. These stepping stones would lead me to having my first show in Savannah, GA and working with organizations such as NAACP, Slave Dwellings and Homeless Ministry. A great deal of my experience began once I was able to take what I had learned in the classroom and applied it to the real world; this is what I strive to do for my students. Many of us have great ideas and talents, but we don't know how to execute, and that's my job to teach one how to execute.

Hobbies
Much of my time now is spent on shooting films, traveling, jogging, painting and collecting vinyl albums. I have a great love for music and experiencing new things. Traveling and exploring the world truly helps to inspire me as an artist. Recently, I have taken up filming, I learned that one can not only speak with words but with visuals. Most of my work is comprised of documentaries and short narratives. I serve as the Director of Photography for a production company by the name of Further From Nowhere.
