College Courses in Math and Writing. Extensive College Courses in Psychology and Science. I've decided to become a tutor not only because I feel I have the skills to explain concepts well but also because I can understand the reasons behind why the student is having trouble learning. I've always had a passion for learning and have found ways to make it enjoyable for others regardless of the negative outlooks that the student may have about the subject. From personal experience I have learned the large effect that a positive attitude can have on learning a difficult subject. I have also grown up with a sister who had cerebral palsy, so I have frequently been in environments around children who have disabilities. The area of work i plan to specialize in for my major is Pediatric Occupational Therapy. This involves working with children with learning disabilities as well. Teaching people new things gives me a great feeling and as a result has allowed me to continue to improve my skills of doing it.
