I was an English Language and Literature and Theatre Arts major at University of Maryland (Class of 2011--Go Terps!). I became a Licensed teacher through CUNY Queens College, in their Post-Bacc certification program. My teaching license in both New York and Illinois is for English Language Arts in Middle and High School. Currently, I am working on an M.Ed in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment at National Louis University.
Experience
I am a second-year teacher, and I have done small private tutoring sessions on and off for the last 8 years. Writing, literary analysis, and reading comprehension are my areas of expertise. I am familiar and comfortable with texts from fiction to non-fiction, classical to contemporary, poetry to prose. Whether a student needs help with a college admissions essay or is struggling through a persuasive argument, I am delighted to help that student organize their ideas and develop their thoughts into a well-written paper.
