I'm concerned with the divide that I have been witnessing in our country's education system. I have spent time working with under-served students in the Bronx through the New York City Teaching Fellows program, and that taught me to appreciate teaching as a profession more than I ever had before. I'm back in the Midwest now, and have a strong desire to make a difference in the education of children who might otherwise slip through the cracks. I went through a program at the University of Notre Dame through which I earned a grant to start up a program called REACTT, which I run at a school that is funded publicly, but also a residential facility where children who have been taken from their homes by the child protective services stay. My great passion in life is education, but I have also worked in sales and business positions, so I have some real world experience that enhances my ability to talk to students about how education is used in the real world. I like the challenge of tutoring, and watching my students grow. I'm available to tutor a huge array of subjects, including assisting students as they study for standardized tests like the SAT, GRE, ACT, and others.
