Experience
After studying at Loyola University and the University of Chicago, I earned degrees in psychology as well as in philosophy. I'm now working at Colorado Technical University as a psychology/ethics instructor. It is a passion of mine to teach and assist people in expanding their knowledge base and bolster their intellectual capacities. In fact, it would not be an overstatement for me to say that my in-class career ranks as the most fulfilling activity I've ever experienced. My goal is to help my students to learn basic and fundamental concepts and methods that will enable them to understand complex ideas as they advance through their educational careers. I understand that different students learn in different ways, which means that I have to be adaptable and use numerous teaching methods.I enjoy tutoring in a one-on-one format so that I ca, leverage my experience to provide assistance. While versatile, I'm particularly good at mentoring people who require assistance in philosophy and psychology, and I also have expertise when it comes to academic writing, including language usage, citations and references, and formatting.Although I'm pretty demanding in terms of what I expect from my students, I'm also very much collaborative, so my students know that we're a team and that I'm on their side. It is much easier to get them to apply themselves when they know that I am in their corner. My interests outside of the classroom include baseball, reading, writing, and classical music.
