I think that at the heart of tutoring should be learning and not teaching. I believe in providing the student with the tools necessary to become an independent learner. Students best learn through example, humor, and asking questions. I use a combination of approaches in my tutoring sessions, including visual and written aids. Learning comes in several stages, but the ultimate goal should be a student that is confident and capable of performing the work with little assistance.I personally enjoy learning and have been a tutor in various forms form many years. The subjects that are my greatest strength are chemistry, English, math, physics, and test prep (ACT and SAT). I earned my bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. I attended Polytechnic Institute of New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In my free time, I enjoy dancing the tango, reading, and running.
