Experience
I’m currently an Academic Director at an elementary school in Chicago with a Master’s Degree and seven years teaching experience. In 2012, my school had the top ten gains in CPS and earned a visit by Rahm Emanuel. In 2013, 95% of my students met or exceeded their targets on the NWEA assessment. I have a wealth of experience developing rigorous instruction that aligns to Common Core standards. This past summer, I studied mathematics instruction in Japan and developed a school-wide plan to implement best practices in teaching and learning as it relates to CCSS. While I can develop an effective reading or math curriculum for grades K-8, I have specific experience successfully preparing students in benchmark grades to take the PARRC and NWEA assessments. I also have experience developing an after school curriculum for mathematics. I've taught after school tutoring programs for both math and reading.

Hobbies
I've always loved teaching. From a young age, I played "teacher" and subjected my siblings to countless mini lessons. Children are my passion. I believe that everyone single child can learn anything they want to given the right instruction and support. I also think learning should be fun and incorporate incentives into lessons to keep students excited!
