Private tutor in Chicago, IL
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - Bachelors, Mathematics
I received a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Religious Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I earned my master's degree in Biblical Languages, with a concentration in Hebrew, at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. My tutoring experience includes helping individuals in Biblical Hebrew and high school students in Calculus, Algebra, and Geometry. I also volunteered my time at a local after-school tutoring program for individuals who were having trouble with their classes. I like to tutor in Math (Algebra all the way through Calculus), Religious Studies, and English. However, Biblical Hebrew is my favorite subject matter to tutor. I also assist individuals in cultivating skills and prep for the SAT, ACT, and GRE tests. The greatest joy for me comes from the "aha!" moments when a light bulb goes on for an individual when they really grasp the concept of something. As an educator, I believe in strongly encouraging questions (for there is no silly question, only the one that is not asked) and easily adapting to the learning style of the individual. In my spare time, I like to skip stones on the lakefront, bike, and sing in a choir.
