Private tutor in Chicago, IL

Northwestern University - BA, Theatre

I'm a resident of Chicago, Illinois with bachelor's degrees from Northwestern University in marketing, Spanish, and theater management. Tutoring is my passion, and I take great pleasure in engaging my students in such a manner that they become excited to be learning. All students have unique learning styles, so I figure out my students' strengths, and then adapt my sessions with them to suit their individual needs. I work together with students so that they are active participants in the sessions; I don't have a set agenda. I try to show them connections to the subject matter so that they become personally invested in the work. Subjects I am available to tutor include English, phonics, literature, essay editing, public speaking, reading, writing, social studies, American history, European history, world history, United States government and politics, geography, government, and all levels of Spanish. I am also available to help students prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT and prepare their college entrance essays. In my spare time, I like to watch old movies, attend the theater, and work on carpentry projects.
