Private tutor in Chicago, IL
University of Scranton - , Biology , SUNY at Binghamton - , Biology Adolescent Education
I am a certified teacher with over a decade of tutoring experience. I specialize tutoring the sciences, and I'm available to help students in biology, chemistry, physiology, astronomy, Earth science, ecology, physical science, elementary science, and a variety of other scientific subjects. I can also work with students on test prep for the ACT or graduate school exams. I received my degree in Biology before going on to earn my master's in Arts and Teaching. I am certified to teach in both New York State and Illinois. I have experience working with students from all different backgrounds, from the star students at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth to special needs students in New York City, whom I have been working with for four years now. I've worked with students aged five through forty five, and my experiences working with such a diverse array of students have helped me excel as a tutor and teacher. As a tutor I believe in engaging my students, and I bring a passion for science and learning to all of my sessions. I try to learn each student's strengths and weaknesses so that I can better approach our time together. When I'm not teaching or tutoring I enjoy playing sports, making art, cooking delicious food, and playing games. I'm currently trying to learn Spanish and I am pursuing wood carving.
