Experience
I am an experienced tutor specializing in teaching reading to preschool and elementary aged children. I have developed my own curriculum with many materials, resources, activities, and lessons for differing levels of reading ability. I am always creating new materials to accommodate my different students as they grow and learn. I am also an assistant teacher and reading interventionist at an elementary school in Skokie District 68. I work in a first grade classroom assisting the teacher and I teach first grade and fourth grade reading intervention groups using the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Program. I completed my student teaching in a second grade classroom in a public school in the neighborhood of Jefferson Park. I also completed practicum experiences, one at Skinner North Classical school in a gifted kindergarten classroom and at Yates Elementary in a classroom for preschool aged children with learning disabilities.

Hobbies
My second passion after teaching is art. I love music and visual art. I have a degree in vocal jazz performance and have performed throughout the Chicagoland area. I also play piano and guitar and love photography and drawing. I was influenced artistically by my father who is a blues guitarist and my mother who is a photographer.
