I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. In May 2014, I received my degree as a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with minors in Spanish and Psychology. After graduation I did a service year with City Year Chicago by serving at-risk students. I received my Master of Science in Cellular and Integrative Physiology through Indiana University's School of Medicine in May 2016.
Experience
I served as a full-time AmeriCorps corps member 2014-2015 with City Year Chicago serving as a mentor and tutor to inner-city 9th grade students in Algebra and health sciences. I received over 150 hours of training in tutoring and test prep with students of all grade levels. I worked to improve my students attendance, behavior, course grades and test scores through positive interventions. While I have not received formal training, I have had experience working with students expressing attention-deficit tendencies. I have worked as a private tutor for over a year. I privately tutored students in high school chemistry and Spanish. I am currently undergoing training to work with adults struggling with illiteracy in Indianapolis. I love working with students of all ages. I believe students of all backgrounds should have an equal opportunity at a great education. I want to do what I can to help in the education of students to achieve their short term and long term goals.

I am currently applying to medical school and work as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department. I have had a strong passion for the sciences and serving others since high school. I am passionate about dance and have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I love to stay active and express my creativity through the arts and crafting. I also love to travel and explore other cultures.
