I began tutoring at my high school tutoring center my sophomore year, and found that I enjoyed helping my peers grasp class material with which they were struggling. I continued to tutor throughout high school, and also tutored elementary students in the summer. As for my scores, I received a 32 on the ACT, 4's and 5's on my AP tests, and a 4.7 GPA, but the greatest validation for my work is the ability to put apply what I learned, using my abilities to help others reach the same level of understanding. My personal philosophy has always been geared towards the learning process and trying to learn a concept inside and out, rather than just cramming to get a certain score or grade. I feel that total mastery of a concept will end up earning an awesome score easily, and will be even more useful for the future.
