Experience
I have taught every grade between pre-k and high school. I have tutored for various schools and companies in the past. With at least 3 years experience in the field of education, I plan to gain more experience to run a school or tutoring company of my own. I have exceptional communication skills. My work at the Chicago Debate Commission helped me gain communication experience by challenging me to teach new debaters, working in the office setting and gaining field experience with professionals in the non- profit sector. I have also worked with students all ages as a debate coach and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The experiences gained are valuable because it helped me learn how to verbally communicate and explain task and information in very great detail. I have also worked as a volunteer English teacher in Italy during my time studying abroad. This opportunity has had a lasting impact and has inspired me to teach abroad again. Therefore I have exceptional work ethic, excellent verbal skills and a professional composure. Currently I am working with students in Chicago as a chess teacher and after school educator. Personality wise, I am a distinguished leader, becoming a recipient of a full- tuition leadership scholarship called Posse. Posse is a very selective leadership scholarship given to students with strong leadership skills and those who show initiative in their schools and communities. I am very positive and energetic. I am definitely considered to be a people person. I am a committed, hard worker to the field of education.
