Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Education
Senior at Brown University double majoring in Economics and History. I have also considered majoring in and have taken many classes in the philosophy and cognitive neuroscience departments. I am most interested in questions that call for a multi-disciplinary approach, such as the global distribution of income, which is a function of modern day economics just as it is bounded by history. Moreover, philosophy informs our beliefs about how global income should be distributed. I think a lot of problems need to be approached from many angles and so I try to apply that methodology to every problem I encounter.
Experience
I really love teaching students outdoor skills and helping them to apply what they just learned to an actual outdoor task, like lighting a fire or tying a knot. People learn in different ways and so teaching these skills requires me to prepare multiple ways to teach my lesson. Choosing how to teach a skill requires me to empathize with the people I'm trying to teach and it makes me more involved with their success. I am currently working for a management consulting firm in Chicago, but I have also worked for Merrill Lynch and a large global law firm in New York. I also spent a summer working in the United States Senate. Back at Brown I am Secretary General of Brown's Model UN club and I am also an editor for the Intercollegiate Finance Journal. I have taken courses on microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic growth, philosophy of time, and the history of the modern Middle East to name a few.

Hobbies
I earned my Eagle Scout my senior year of high school and I am a wilderness backpacking instructor at Brown. I lead groups of seven freshmen and sophomores on five-day backpacking trips in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It is one of my favorite parts of Brown, the other being my volunteer work as tour guide for the admissions office. I love giving tours and talking to prospective students and meeting people in general.
