I have approximately 10 years of tutoring experience. I also have mentoring experience. The majority of students I have worked with were either adolescents or young adults. For the past 6 years or so, I have been tutoring preteen and teenage students in mathematics and composition skills. I also have experience working with students in preparation for their ACT exams. As for my tutoring credentials, I have undergone 2 training courses and have worked with over 20 students in private settings. I believe that my role as a tutor is to teach. However, I also believe that building bonds and friendships with my students is just as important. Maintaining bonds with students allows for open communication and for both the student and myself to feel comfortable with one another. As for my tutoring style, I am very goal-orientated. I believe in setting goals with every student. I am supportive and maintain open communication between the parents of my students, the student, and myself. My main goal while tutoring is to help each individual student I work with achieve any academic goals that they may have. When not tutoring, I enjoy being active. I like to participate in yoga and run. I also going to festivals in Chicago, trying new restaurants, and traveling when I get the chance. I currently reside in Chicago, Illinois.
