Experience

I am a tutor that specializes in standardized test prep. Aside from test prep, I can also help with U.S. History and Social Studies. Right now I am pursuing my master's degree in Chinese history from the University of British Columbia. Before this, I was a test prep teacher in China and Korea with The Princeton Review. I helped students prepare for the GRE, TOEFL, SSAT, and SAT. I also served as an ESL teacher at New Mexico State University. Many students are under the wrong impression that to prep for standardized tests they have to memorize thousands of things. This common idea is a myth. Standardized tests are merely logic games, formed with all of the things that were already taught in the traditional classroom. As long as you follow the procedures and rules to the test, you can reach the score you are looking for. My goal as a tutor is to figure out which areas of the test you need help with and tailor a lesson plan that focuses on those areas. I am looking forward to giving you a stress-free environment to prepare for your test. When I am not tutoring, you can find me reading, watching movies, and watching sports.
