I graduated from Western Governors University, which is an online school. Learning online has given me many skills because I have had to teach myself everything. I have a bachelors degree of arts in interdisciplinary studies k-9. while I was student teaching I had to complete an EdTPA, which is an education teacher performance assessment. It involved video taping myself teaching, creating lesson plans that built on each other, and determining assessments. I also had to write commentary to explain everything. I had to pass it in order to graduate and that assessment alone had taught me a lot.
Experience
I have run the after-school enrichment program/homework help for the past 2 years. I work with students from kindergarten to sixth grade. I have also student taught in kindergarten/2nd grade/4th grade/5th grade math. I would like to tutor in order to help students have an easier time in school. Working with the afterschool program has given me an understanding of the difficulties that students have and I want to help.
