I am currently an academic advisor for a program that helps low-income college students, those who are first generation college goers, or have a disability. I recently taught, as an Adjunct Professor, English 151 rhetoric and style and a Senior English seminar at East West University. During my first year of graduate school at Bradley University I worked as an English tutor in the writing center and a transcriber (WWII letters) at the university special collections section of the library. While in school, my courses were mainly in American, African American, British, Victorian, Shakespearean, and world literatures, coupled with linguistic courses in grammar and syntax.

Hobbies
I am the only girl of 5 boys, in which my mother raised. I grew up knowing that knowledge was the key to enhancing the quality of life you want for yourself. My mother has worked in early childhood education for 30 years, and owns a daycare and pre school. When I'm not reading, I enjoy dabbling in the fiction writing world and love to write poetry. As a former musical theater-vocal performance major, I still enjoy singing and am learning how to strum my guitar!
