Experience

I finally received my master's degree in Chemistry this year, and I currently work as a chemistry teacher and tutor. I know that this is a difficult academic subject for many of my students, which is why I guide them as a tutor to understand the basic concepts and how to solve problems in this science field. I work closely with my students on understanding science reports (especially my undergraduate students), as well as completing laboratory experiments and understanding the results. Tutoring interests me specifically because I am able to work with smaller groups or individual students to help them develop problem-solving skills, which are integral to understanding not just chemistry, but other subjects as well. I want my students to walk away from tutoring sessions with the confidence that they can solve problems outside of just their chemistry homework. I have a combined six years of education in chemistry, along with teaching experience at the college level. Holding office hours to work with my students has prepared me well for tutoring. When I am not working as a tutor or teacher, I enjoy a variety of different sports, and I also enjoy cooking, which is a lot like applied chemistry.
