Experience
My tutoring career started in high school and continued when I was in college. In both settings, I helped classmates with Chemistry. I have a bachelor's degree in physics and chemistry (a double major) and graduated with magna cum laude honors. Today, I continue to work on my chemistry thesis in pursuit of my doctorate at Northwestern University. I serve as a TA for many courses and labs. My responsibilities include reviewing written exams, grading assignments, supervising labs, and assisting students during office hours. I have also started teaching at Harold Washington College, where I am the instructor for a second semester general chem course. My teaching experience has given me the insight as to where students likely make errors. With this knowledge, I can intervene more quickly before the mistakes occur and lack of understanding becomes problematic. One of my tutoring strengths is my ability to take complex concepts and break them down into simple components. This helps me more quickly identify areas that are being misunderstood by the student. Some areas that I offer tutoring in are Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Algebra 1 and 2, Calc 1 and 2, Geometry, and Middle School Math. I live in Chicago and enjoy playing video games and board games.
