Five years experience tutoring across a wide variety of age/grade ranges (3rd to College senior tutoring). I've worked through Columbia's fiction writing department to tutoring and coach students on reading and writing for both creative and academic purposes, and graduated with my degree in Creative Writing. I've experience taking initiative, having founded and managed a small art gallery based in Chicago which has served dozens of artists and thousands of patrons over a two year stretch - handling all aspects from business management to advertisement and public relations. I've quality experience working with people, as both a tutor, a camp counselor and as the director of an art gallery - which incorporated a wide variety of elements essential to problem solving/working with others to tackle large projects/problems.

Hobbies

I spend a lot of time writing/reading and finding alternative ways to tell stories. I attend fiction readings most months, and actively engage in fantasy roleplaying through text and acting, working to involve others for more dynamic story telling. Focusing on articulation and voice, I'm able to bring in my 'on the side' interests into the workplace to better help students look at the class work/reading from a new vantage point, and bring the story off the page for them to better understand.
