Experience
As a student of psychology, I have become passionate about the learning process. This manifests itself as both an interest in cognitive science as well as a desire to utilize what I have learned about the mind to become an effective educator. I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago, where I worked as a peer tutor. The Tutoring Center was one my favorite places on campus, and I worked so hard for my students I was honored with the Tutor of the Term award my senior year. I have carried my tutoring experiences forward past graduation as a private tutor for students in Chicago and Evanston since May. My greatest areas of expertise are in the sciences: namely psychology, chemistry, and biology. I have tutored these subjects at both the high school and college levels. I have also had extensive experience with ACT prep. One of my students recently achieved a score of 35! That remains one of my proudest accomplishments. My style is very encouraging. I know that these subjects are hard! But many times all we need is a boost of confidence and we can achieve great things. I reside in Lincoln Park and work in Evanston. I am happy to travel to your home or to a public space like a coffeeshop or library, whatever is most convenient and comfortable for you! So let's learn together and have fun doing it!
