Experience
Education is both my passion and my career. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in both Biology and History. I taught fifth through eighth grade, focusing on the sciences. While I enjoyed classroom teaching, I prefer tutoring, because I am able to work with each student individually to give them the undivided attention students don't get in classroom settings. I believe students should own their learning, because it helps them enjoy the process and become stronger as students and as people. I can help students in elementary, middle, and some high school mathematics classes. I can also work with students who need extra help with sciences like biology, physical science, and the life sciences. Because I taught several levels of grade school, I can also work with students on American History, reading comprehension, social studies, writing skills, and keeping the mind sharp during the summer months. When I am not working hard as a teacher and tutor, I like to get out and enjoy nature, especially through hiking. I also enjoy reading, and I love to cook.
