Experience
I taught in the Chicago Public Schools from 2011-2014 in classrooms ranging from K- Grade 5. I specialize in helping students who are below grade level in reading achieve grade level status. I can create lessons and interventions for students based on their individual needs in reading to bring them to grade level. Phonics, decoding strategies, comprehension, and higher order thinking skills are my strengths with teaching reading to children who are below grade level. Additionally, I made the choice to leave the classroom to help individual students achieve academic success. I felt that tutoring would allow me to work one-on-one with children to allow them the maximum amount of reading success.
