Experience
My path to becoming an educator began with the first "Aha!" moment I helped a student achieve when I was an 18-year-old student majoring in Early Childhood Development. A decade later, the wide variety of learning methods still fascinate me and I continue to derive a lot of satisfaction when I am involved in helping someone acquire new skills and knowledge. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from St. Louis University and a teaching certificate for elementary level students from Northeastern Illinois University. I also have an endorsement certificate in English as a Second Language from the University of Illinois. My tutoring and classroom experience is with children 5 to 12 years old. I tutor Algebra 1, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Grammar and Mechanics, Literature, Writing, ESL/ELL, Executive Functioning, Math, English, Business, HSPT, ISEE-Lower Level, and SSAT-Elementary Level. As an educator, I determine a student's talents and interests and fashion lessons in a way he or she is best able to learn them.In my free time, I like to practice yoga, read good books, and explore new restaurants.
