I believe individualized attention is the key to helping students learn effectively. As a tutor, I can assess my student and react to them to keep them engaged and learning at all times. If I modify my teaching approach to match the learning style of my student, the student is more likely to gain an appreciation for the subject and develop their own desire and motivation to be understand the topic. This help students become confident, and also makes our sessions, and learning in general, a lot more fun. My experience in teaching and mentoring includes being a Boy Scout leader, student teaching at a middle school, and tutoring on campus.
