Experience
Students often feel that their studies include challenges that they cannot rise above, or that learning is hopeless. I believe, as their teacher, it is my job to help them face such obstacles, and through patience and perseverance, defeat them. I also feel that learning isn't just knowing enough to pass a test. Learning should be a source of joy and should lead to the wisdom that helps us survive and prosper, no matter the vagaries of life.I began my teaching career in South Korea, teaching English as a Second Language. I got my Bachelor's at U of Wisconsin-Madison in Economics and International Relations, and then got my MBA at USC. I teach a wide variety of subjects including, but not limited to: Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, Differential Equations, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Geometry, Trigonometry, College Essays, Essay Editing, Grammar and Mechanics, Reading, Writing, ESL/ELL, Economics, Microeconomics, American History, World History, Accounting, Business, and Finance. I can help with Test Prep and with all sections of the GMAT, ACT, and SAT. I have a talent for languages and I can teach Greek, Spanish, and Hebrew.I like to snowboard, go out running with my dog, attend concerts, and read (especially historical fiction).
