Experience
I am a teacher of special education for the Chicago public school district, who has also worked as a substitute teacher. I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I completed my undergraduate studies. In May, 2015, I finished a master's degree at Northeastern Illinois University and was a student teacher there in my senior year. I have worked extensively with first through eighth grade students, tutoring mostly reading and writing. However, I am familiar with all K-8 subject matter. One-on-one interaction is how I instruct mainly, but I am not opposed to teaching in small group settings. Due to my experience in public schools, I know how to adapt to various personality styles and levels of comprehension. I also know that students have to be able to relate to the things they are learning in order to fully understand the material.I take a warm attitude towards my students. You are most comfortable around close friends and family. I want my students to feel that they can be just as open with me when it comes to their academic needs. The best kind of learning relationship is communicative, so all parties should be able to express themselves freely. I am here to bring excitement back to education. It is my desire to help pupils reach their goals.
