Although I am an experienced elementary and middle school classroom teacher, I prefer tutoring because it allows me to develop a true relationship with each student. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. Then, I went on to Saint Xavier to get a master's degree in Educational Leadership. By the time I was done with my undergraduate studies, I was highly qualified to teach Language Arts and Social Studies. My professional experience includes teaching third and fifth grade classes, as well as middle school. I have tutored elementary through college level students in a variety of subjects.I prefer to communicate openly in a collaborative learning effort. I will ask questions and re-iterate information we've gone over, just to ensure that comprehension is happening. Taking charge of your education is the first step in achieving an independent life. So, it is always important for students and their instructors to be on the same page. The tools taken away from our sessions will be applicable in the journey of academic success.Aside from teaching, I can be found spending leisure time in my city, Chicago. I also don't mind the occasional escape in the form of a road trip.
