Experience
ACT- 32 // SAT - 2200 My first experiences tutoring were in undergrad where I aided students struggling in various classes, most in the subjects of Continental Philosophy, Linguistics and Literature. I also provided a writing workshop to help with essays and creative writing. All of these studies are available if needed. I offer two basic forms. (1) Close studies of any number of modern and post-structural philosophers (Descartes, Spinoza, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Deleuze and Derrida, etc.) wherein each session has an outline and a lesson plan and our time will be spent on close reading and concept analysis. (2) We may also directly follow a given syllabus or the material for a test and prepare for some concrete end. As mentioned before I also can help with Writing Skills, Grammar and Creative Writing, as well as grasping a wide range of complex modern and postmodern literature. My intent is to render important and difficult texts within the Western canon as clear and sensible. I use direct examples, references and every day objects and ideas to clarify opaque language. My hope is that we can reach not only a thematic and general understanding of texts but also create a strong use-value for concepts and explicate difficult structural ideas related more to grammar, semantics and vocabulary than content.
