Experience

I earned my bachelor's degree in chemistry from Pepperdine University, and then went on to Northwestern University to get my doctorate in chemistry. I had the opportunity to teach in Italy with Big Brothers Big Sisters and really enjoyed sharing what I knew with others. I have additional teaching experience as a chemistry TA at both Northwestern and Pepperdine, and I've presented science demonstrations at the elementary school level. I love math and science, and am comfortable working with students of all ages and all levels of ability. I'm laid-back and approachable, and I focus on the individual needs of each student that I work with. It's very rewarding to see something click for a student, and so I like to use word problems in my sessions to help students develop problem-solving skills so they learn more effectively. When I have free time, I like to read, do puzzles, go to the ballet, watch Italian movies, and visit art museums.
