Experience
I taught at my alma mater as an adjunct instructor for Introduction to College Writing, where I served as taskmaster for incoming college students needing to understand the fundamentals of college writing. I taught three classes per semester, instructing over 60 students in writing research papers--be it film reviews, advertisement analysis, and argumentative topics. Prior to teaching, I served as a writing tutor for the English Department of WKU, where I would meet one-on-one with students from varied majors/backgrounds and assist them in drafting/writing assignments/creative fiction/research topics/bibliographies/term papers for whatever course they needed help in. My job was NOT to write the paper for them, but to assist them in the writing process so they would be comfortable and confident in completing the assignment.

Hobbies
I'm a reader: I read for leisure almost every day, be it the newspaper or book of choice (fiction and nonfiction). When it comes to fiction, my favorite authors are William Faulkner, Toni Morrison, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Margaret Atwood, Edgar Allan Poe, Gore Vidal and Chuck Palahniuk. While I have no specific favorite nonfiction authors, I do enjoys topics ranging in ecocriticism, film theory, American history, and current issues involving civil rights and environmental issues. I'm also quite fond of audio/visual media--I have a varied knowledge of film, television, and music, and am quite relevant with pop cultural issues (of which I used for lesson plans with my freshmen writing classes).
