6+ years as a professional tutor. Typically a student will use me for heavy edits the first 3-4 essays, but after that should be making Bs or As on their own. My commitment is to not only change what's wrong but to show and explain to the student why it is a mistake. Rather than working on the basis of grammar rules only, I encourage students to strive for coherence and cohesion in their writing.
