Experience
The majority of my experience has been in elementary education. I have tutored students in grades 2nd through 8th in the United States, Costa Rica, and Mexico. However, I have also worked with college students and adults who want to improve their linguistic skills. I currently tutor several courses, including elementary math, elementary writing, middle school math, elementary science, reading, writing, nutrition, pre-algebra, public speaking, high school English, conversational Spanish, life sciences, phonics, and languages. My personal academic goals include completing my bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in bilingual education and ESL. My student teaching has helped me to more fully develop my teaching skills and I believe this has been an invaluable boon for the students I tutor. I understand just how truly diverse student populations can be and how important it is to take the time to get to know each student individually. By discovering each student's individual learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses, it is possible to create a program of learning that will be most effective for their specific learning needs. It is my sincere hope that each of my students leaves their time with me not only with a greater understanding of the subject matter but also a life-long love of learning.
