Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Harvard University - BA, History and Literature , University of Chicago - PhD, Comparative Human Development
Hello. I am Gabriel, and I have a bachelor's degree in History and Literature from Harvard University. After graduation, I worked in Harlem, New York, for 12 months as a teacher. I then traveled to Peru, where I taught for two years, and then Columbia for a three-year teaching stint. Today, I live in Chicago and am pursuing a doctorate at the University of Chicago. My experience as a tutor and teacher crosses multiple subjects and ages. I have depth in helping students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and PSAT and helping them develop and refine essays for college admission applications. I also have tutored many middle school students in Spanish, English literature, and math. The subject I love the most is math, and it's been my favorite since I was child. When I tutor, I believe it is critically important to build and maintain a good relationship with the student, and I very much enjoy doing that. The better the relationship, the more comfortable the student will be, and the more they will get from the tutoring experience. Chicago is a wonderful city to explore, and I am often out walking and reading, frequently doing both at once. I like many sports, running, and conversing over coffee.
