I have been tutoring math and science at the high school and undergraduate level for several years. In particular, my subjects include Chemistry, Physics, mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus), and test prep for the SAT, ACT, or GRE exams. I am also interested in languages and tutoring French. I attended the University of Wisconsin and received a B.S. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.I take my students' success seriously, and I am committed to making any concept tangible and understandable. My approach is to use basic ideas and words that everyone knows. In math and science, the key is to clearly visualize how things are related to each other. Then the student can walk through problems and internalize the material. I am very familiar with which areas of math and science cause trouble for people, so I have plenty of strategies for dealing with these issues. I work with my students until they can practically solve problems in their sleep - not because they've memorized something, but because they understand all the fundamentals and know every aspect of the subject. In my free time, I enjoy reading about and discussing all sorts of topics related to science and philosophy.
