I am interested in tutoring Math, Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Biology, Psychology, Social Science, and AP Math courses, and I believe that I bring a somewhat unique perspective to these subjects. Unlike many tutors, who may be students or teachers, I work in a field where these subjects are put use in the real world. As an insurance analyst in IT Release Management, I can help learners focus on the concepts that will be most useful to them in terms of strategic application.As a student, I earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science at Central Michigan University. And while I enjoyed my studies, it was almost impossible to know which aspects of my major would be essential in day-to-day usage and which aspects would not be. Having that information ahead of graduation might not seem like a big deal, but in reality it can give students a leg up in finding internships and other opportunities. A student who has been tutored in what companies are looking for mathematically will have the advantage over other students who only know what their textbooks and their professors tell them.My interests, which I am able to mine for mathematical tutoring examples, include being outdoors, playing softball, going to the beach, and reading mysteries and thrillers.
