I'm from Chicago, Illinois. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Indiana University at Bloomington and a Master of Arts in English from Chicago's DePaul University. I earned teaching certificates from Indiana University and Kingston University, located in London, England. At present, I'm teaching college English as an adjunct instructor. I have extensive experience tutoring and teaching composition, reading, grammar, literature, test prep and study skills in both the U.S. and the U.K. Reading comprehension and composition are my favorite subjects, and they are what I most enjoy tutoring. In California, I spent two years teaching Language Arts in a middle school. In London, I taught English composition as well as literature and tutored students aged 11 and 12 in reading comprehension by helping them to advance their skills in reading. I also volunteered as a teacher in the Indian Himalayas, helping children aged 5 and 6 acquire basic writing and language skills. I try to learn my students' hobbies and interests and connect the lessons to them so that they are interested in what they're learning.In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, practicing yoga, art, theater, creative writing, poetry, reading travel literature, and travel writing.
