Private tutor in Chicago, IL

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - BS, Animal Sciences

I have adopted a very contemporary approach to tutoring. In my experience, I have found the most success when I use media to teach students. More specifically, I use videos and pictures to give my students tangible evidence of what we are learning. The effectiveness of this method makes sense when one realizes that memorizing the content of a textbook can be dry and boring. When attached to a written description, videos and pictures can engage the student in a way that a textbook cannot. Additionally, the modern world is rapidly becoming increasingly interconnected through the internet. For this reason, children of this generation find it easy to relate to my method of teaching. My BA is in animal science from the University of Illinois. While I was working to earn my undergraduate degree, I tutored college students in subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biology, public speaking, math, writing, and chemistry. The first four items in my list of tutoring subjects are the ones of which I am most fond. I have always had a passion for the biological sciences as they are a great tool for understanding how human beings behave. During my free time, I take care of my animals, read books, and go on adventures outdoors.
