I attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated with double majors in Spanish and Theatre. I currently live in Chicago, Illinois, where I'm a stage actor and tutor. For several years, I primarily tutored middle school and high school students preparing for the SSAT, SAT, ISEE, and ACT, and found my specialty is Reading Comprehension and Essay Writing.Primary and secondary students are my favorite ages to tutor, and I've learned techniques to help them reduce test anxiety, pick up test-taking strategies and tips, and polish up any problem areas before testing. Working as a team with the student, I try and make each session both fun and educational. Besides test preparation, I'm qualified to tutor students in elementary Math, middle school Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Phonics, Literature, Grammar/Mechanics, History, English, and Spanish. I'm experienced in working with Advanced Placement students, and in assisting students with study and organizational skills, too. I have a great love of both reading and writing, and work hard to pass it on to my students. Whenever I'm not working, I indulge in my favorite pastime - reading!
