I am an experienced tutor who has helped students of all ages identify their learning objectives, their strengths, and their weaknesses. As a tutor, my job is to instruct and guide my students to academic success. I have helped middle school students with art projects, helped high school students improve their English skills, and tutored elementary and middle school students in a variety of subject areas. After graduating from Goshen College, where the focus of my studies were English and Secondary Education, I traveled to Cambodia, where I spent time teaching at an orphanage. Today, I spend my days teaching 5th-grade students and interacting with them each day to improve their study skills and their learning experiences in the classroom.The main focus of my tutoring is English, Math, Literature, and Art. I also help students with other subjects, including College Essays, Essay Editing, Grammar and Mechanics, and Writing Skills.I enjoy spending time on several of my hobbies. I've found Chicago offers so many sights and things to explore that I try to get out and explore the city as much as possible. I also take some time to improve my tennis game, work on my volleyball serve, catch up on a good book, start a new art project, and improve my writing skills.
