My educational philosophy is based on developing a compassionate and personal relationship with my students in order to promote an environment of active learning. I utilize my strong analytical skills, active listening, and a unique approach to solving problems to understand the needs of each student and develop a learning experience that best addresses those needs. I believe learning is a lifestyle and am committed to continuing education for myself in order to always be on the leading edge of new and innovative educational ideas, techniques, and tools. It is important to me to be both an educator and a motivator and it is because of my strong desire to help students that I pursue my own education and teach others.I specialize in teaching English, American history and government, civics, and reading comprehension and analysis. Additionally I enjoy helping students prepare for the N-400 application and can work with individuals who need assistance preparing for the interview portion of the application process.When I am not pursuing my own education or helping others achieve their educational goals I enjoy travel and watching movies.
