Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Loyola University Chicago - BS, Physics
I graduated from Loyola University, Chicago, with a bachelor's degree in Physics. I plan to continue my education to earn my PhD in Chemistry. I see myself as a very rational and logical individual and I try to reflect this in how my students are taught in my classroom. When I set myself to a task, I give 100% effort until the task is accomplished.I believe when teaching concepts that are more complex it is much more beneficial to the student to actually understand it instead of simply memorizing it. This will make problem solving in those areas more easy down the road. Being encouraging instead of forcing students to learn something leads to a greater willingness to learn the material in my opinion and I try to be as encouraging as possible. Keeping things lighthearted and having a sense of humor in the classroom never hurts either. When tutoring a student I find the most joyous part is when something a student is having difficulty with finally clicks for them and an understanding of the problem is finally achieved. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports such as football, basketball and Frisbee. I also love to play the piano and occasionally play video games with friends.
