Erica G.
Private tutor in Chicago, IL
Education
I am a sophomore at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and I am going for my Masters in Art Therapy. In high school, I took three AP English classes as well as 2 dual credit English courses, two AP History classes so I am well versed in those two subjects, one AP Human Anatomy class, and one AP Art class.
Experience
I have been tutoring peers and younger kids since I was 4th grade, mainly in English, History, and similar subjects. On my AP tests I received five scores of 4 and two scores of 5, both of the 5's in English, and I received a score of 98 in my dual credit courses. I used to tutor all the time and since coming to college, I stopped but I realized how much I missed helping people succeed in a subject because I believe everyone is capable. I was able to start tutoring so early because my mother is a teacher for children with special needs. After school, I would go to her class room and help tutor some of her students. By 6th grade, I started to branch out and tutor other students, both younger and my own age. I have also been a camp counselor for two summers and enjoy teaching children as well as having safe and healthy fun. I am also an advocate for many different teaching styles, depending on what is bast for the person.

Hobbies
When I am not in class or making art, I enjoy reading and writing immensely. I am also extremely fond of hiking and exploring the outdoors, something I miss here in the city. I have a high interest in psychology, art, and language. When I am not spending time alone, I am generally hanging out with my three best friends in our apartment or out around Chicago.
