Experience
While I don't have tutoring experience, in high school I formed an improv club where I taught fellow students the basics of comedic improvisation. Improv is something I'm passionate about, and I was willing to teach others about it so I'd have a group with whom I could engage in this activity. More recently, I've done some TA work for my dad--grading, making test questions for both reading checks and longer essay/discussion quizzes. He teaches various business courses, mostly marketing, whereas I was an English major, so when writing test questions, not only did I have to analyze unfamiliar material, I had to shift my perspective so I could help students learn about given texts from a business-oriented outlook. I always did well on standardized tests, and have a good mindset for taking them that I can impart to others. I have more generalized passion for the process of learning, and I'm confident I can help students engage with their studies and help them improve their grades/scores.

Hobbies
I'm a big fan of comedy, theatre, and film/television. I also have a couple of musical instruments I practice (not often enough, I admit!),and enjoy reading fiction, poetry, comic books, pretty much anything you can read. I have a good sense of humor, and try to make learning feel comfortable and pleasant. I think building a rapport with a student gives them enthusiasm, and encourages them to learn.
